Raja Ampat Island: Marine Tourism Paradise in The Province of West Papua, Indonesian


Raja Ampat is the name given to the islands and came from a local myth. The four main islands that are found here are Waigeo, Misool, Salawati and Batanta islands. Located at the northwest tip of the bird's head of peninsula in the province of West Papua in Indonesia, Raja Ampat or four kings is one of the islands that are very exotic and amazing in Indonesia. Access to Raja Ampat Island

From any country you come, to get to the four islands in the Raja Ampat. First you should toward to the Domine Eduard Osok Airport (DEO) in Sorong, the province of West Papua. The easiest way to get to the Raja Ampat is through flights to Sorong from Jakarta or Bali with transit in Makassar.

1. Waigeo Island


Waigeo island is the largest of the four main islands of Raja Ampat islands in Papua. Waigeo is also known as waigiu, which is located in the province of West Papua near the town of Sorong. 2. Misool Island (Tropical Paradise in Raja Ampat)


Misool is one of the four largest islands in the Raja Ampat islands. Located at off the west coast of the main island of Papua and directly borders the Seram sea. This island is also be destination for sport diving which is famous worldwide with its underwater beauty.

3. Batanta Island


Batanta is a tourist destination visited by tourists. The island has several villages namely Waiweser and Marandanweser. The population in this village is familiar with the visits of tourists. In every village there are lodging facilities that can be rented. The island has an area of approximately 453 km2 with a beautiful and natural atmosphere. Here you also can still see the birds of paradise that lives wild in the woods. The white sand beach and smooth increasingly add to the natural beauty of the island.

4. Salawati Island


Salawati island is one of the four main islands in the Raja Ampat islands West Papua. Almost three quarters of Salawati island is dense forest sago. The beauty of Salawati island indeed related to the diversity of plants and the animals. Conditions are still very silent, quiet and almost virgin makes many tourists to hunt this place.
